Connie Hammer, LMSW
I am a PCI Certified Parent
Coach®, Step-Family Foundation Counselor and Licensed Master of Social
Work. I acquired my Parent Coach certification through the graduate
level Parent Coaching
Institute (PCI) program affiliated with Seattle Pacific University.
The Parent Coaching Institute is the only Parent Coach Certification®
Program offered in the United States. I have also received training as
a Step-Family Foundation Counselor with the Stepfamily Foundation of
New York. I am also a founding member of the PCI Certified Parent
Coaches of New England, a collaboration of dynamic parent coaches who
share resources and represent four of the New England states. I have
earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work focusing
entirely on children and families.
My background includes twenty years of experience in the field of
social work with children and families. For the past fifteen years, I
have worked as a school counselor. I was previously employed with state
social services where my pro-active approach and fervent belief in
prevention led me to establish a successful family resource center for
the prevention of child abuse and the betterment of families.
My personal life experience has provided me with the opportunity to
observe an entire generation of children grow to adulthood—including my
own three sons and step-daughter.
Throughout my diverse work experience, I have listened to the
questions, concerns and struggles of hundreds of parents. Through The
Progressive Parent, I will assist you in creating a present and a
future that optimizes the potential for you and your child.

Cathi McGrevey
I also received my graduate
level certification as a parent coach from the Parent Coaching Institute (PCI) in partnership
with Seattle Pacific University. This is the only Certified Parent
Coaching Program in the nation. I earned a MA in Human Services and I
am an instructor at Southern New Hampshire University. Partnering with
Connie, I am also a founding member of the PCI Certified Parent Coaches
of New England, a collaboration of dynamic parent coaches who share
resources and represent four of the New England states.
My Masters in Human Resources, allowed for working with children and
teens in unique settings. I created and implemented Kids Karate Camps,
working with children and families to develop self-discipline through
the martial arts. Also, I am experienced in managing teens at a Family
Entertainment Center, motivating them to develop work ethic skills
which they could take forward with them in any future field of work
they pursued. Through my years adjunct teaching at SNHU I have enjoyed
working with a wide variety of adult learners. As a certified parent
coach I understand the unique challenges facing adult learners looking
to balance family and career goals. I have enjoyed coaching women in
transition, helping them find their authentic voice and define their
priorities as they look to increase family ease and cohesion.
